Allura Peterson of Therapeutic Gemz

Her slogan says it plainly: massage is more than a luxury. It can be a treat, and it can also be the thing that gets you back to feeling like yourself. Come in expecting to feel safe, seen, and unhurried, and leave feeling better in your body.

Meet Allura Peterson, Massage Therapist in Garner, NC

Allura has been a massage therapist since September 2019. She started out planning to become a physical therapist, but what pulled her toward massage was the hands on work and the chance to truly connect with people. She spent her early years working with athletes, chronic pain, and post surgery clients, then about two years doing mobile massage before deciding a stationary space made more sense. Therapeutic Gemz has been based in Garner since February. She is also back in school finishing a kinesiology degree, and she is looking forward to moving to Garner so she can join the community as a neighbor.

Massage for Chronic Pain, Recovery, and Post Surgery Support

Recovery is the heart of the practice. You will find focused work for chronic pain, athletes, and people healing after surgery, along with oncology massage and prenatal massage. Her newest certification is in traditional Thai massage, which is performed on the floor, and she also offers PureSculpt ice sculpting for body contouring. Every one of these grew out of the same goal, which is helping people feel physically different when they walk out than when they walked in.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage in Garner

Manual lymphatic drainage has been Allura's main focus for about four years, especially for clients recovering from surgery. She explains it in simple terms. It is a slow, gentle, hands on technique that helps lymph fluid move through your body, and your lymphatic system is how you clear out waste.

She will also give you a straight answer if it is not the right fit. You may need a certified lymphedema therapist instead. Allura is always straightwarward about the difference, and the care for her clients comes first.

Medical Massage for Veterans Through the VA

Since August, Allura has been a community care network provider with the VA, offering medical massage for veterans. Few massage therapists in the area take on this work, and clients have been traveling to her from surrounding cities. She sees it as a way to serve the people who served.

An All Inclusive Massage Experience

Allura does not charge extra for add ons. Hot stones, hot towels, aromatherapy, red light therapy, cupping, and anything else beyond her hands are simply part of your session. Sessions run from 75 minutes up to three hours, so there is room to truly settle in. New clients also receive $10 off their first session.

A Calm Space Where You Can Relax

Therapeutic Gemz operates from a wellness room inside Ebb & Flow Yoga Studio. The space is calm, open, and inviting, and Allura reaches out before your visit so you know what to expect. Once you arrive, the pace of the session is yours to control. She keeps a generous buffer between clients so nothing feels rushed. You can choose your own music, and there are snacks and water available. If you need a moment to talk out what you're feeling along the way, there is room for that too.

That is what she hopes you take with you. Safe, seen, and relaxed, no matter what brought you in.

Giving Back to the Garner Community

Allura gives her time through free chair massages at community events, churches, and wellness events, and she makes a point of showing up for appreciation weeks honoring nurses and teachers. She has also joined fellow massage therapists for a recovery day at a local high school. Now she is looking for ways to bring more of that giving to Garner itself. As her practice grows, she expects to need a larger space someday, and she is committed to staying in the Garner area when that time comes.
